About the service
Course Imports ("the service") is a community course registry that indexes links to public course repositories hosted on GitHub. The service stores only metadata — all course content remains on GitHub. It is a directory, not a hosting platform.
Acceptable use
By using the service you agree to:
- Only submit links to public GitHub repositories that you have the right to share
- Not submit content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, or otherwise objectionable
- Not attempt to gain unauthorised access to the service, other accounts, or connected systems
- Not use the service for spam, phishing, or distributing malware
- Not interfere with or disrupt the service's infrastructure
User responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the security of your GitHub account used to sign in
- All activity that occurs through your account on the service
- Ensuring that any course repositories you submit comply with their respective licences
- The accuracy of any information you provide
Intellectual property
Course content belongs to its respective authors and is governed by the licences they choose for their repositories. The service does not claim ownership of any course content.
By submitting a course link, you confirm that the repository is publicly available and that sharing its metadata through this directory does not infringe any third-party rights.
The service's own branding, design, and code are the property of Course Imports and may not be reproduced without permission.
Disclaimers
The service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding the service's availability, accuracy, or fitness for a particular purpose.
We do not endorse, verify, or guarantee the quality or safety of any course content linked through the directory. Use any linked material at your own discretion.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Course Imports and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the service.
This includes, without limitation, loss of data, loss of profits, or damages resulting from reliance on any course content linked through the directory.
Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the service at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these terms or is harmful to other users or the service.
You may delete your account at any time. Upon deletion, your personal data will be removed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will be revised accordingly. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of the service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
